Good wine
My co-captain and I enjoy wine, I make my own, and like everyone else have my own tastes. My favorite is a Cabernet Sauvignon. I like it really oaken and with strong flavors. I have many favorite caves, chateaus, and wineries. If you would ever like some advice on picking one out, just give me a call. I would be happy to make a suggestion and help out. Many believe the most expensive is the best! Occasionally this is true, but you can find a good wine relatively priced. This commercial spews the message.

Whats on my Ipod right now?
On my Ipod right now, helping me get through the amount of work they give you in Grad School, is Darius. I grew up in a small town, and I think we had one stop light at the time, but don't quote me on that. The town was in the South, so from time to time country is my music of choice. It kind of depends on my mood. Darius has a song called "This", which I will share with you as I can relate. You may be able to as well. I am thankful for how my life has played out so far, and understand the first act was both memorable and special but the second act can be even more spectacular! Thanks God for all your many blessings because ultimately, that's what led me here to this!! -P.H.
What is a Flash Mob??
With the invention of email and text messaging, flash mobs are starting to be a way of expressing yourself especially with the young crowd. It is quite interesting when the participants adhear to the laws, and do this with good intentions. We live in a great country, where we can enjoy certain rights, speak openly about values and have opinions. Typically flash mobs are done by the young, but here is an example of one with all ages, and this group may have found a new way to spread the word. I think you will agree, nicely done!

Disintegration- Wake County School Board
The Wake County School Board was recently featured on the Colbert Report! What is the Wake County School Board thinking?? First the Board says it is going to have students attend schools closer to where they live. I have friends that are assigned to schools next year that are further away than the ones they were attending last year. Plus we have moved some kids around multiple times to new schools, is this good for their development? I will leave the answer to this question to youth development experts, but would guess the stress would not be helpful to the students each year. The school system had a history of good performance and was even respected for the attempts to educate all students and to not exclude populations. So we are now going to erase history and the work of so many of Wake County's school administrators, principals and teachers. We already had a respectable superintendent quit! What is the Wake County School Board thinking?

Life's Moving on...
OK so I have been a little slack with the postings lately, Sorry. So to catch up I am still working on my shoulder rehab- this is going on over a year, Anyone that has to go through a Slap tear and Bankart repair shoulder surgery involving 6-7 anchors, I do have sympathy for you.
We took the Lil man to the State Fair this week. Last week we made our annual journey to Hill Ridge Farm. We always have fun at the farm and fair. The Lil man loved riding the train and hay ride at the pumpkin patch and this year we panned for gem stones and he found gold, rubies and emeralds.
At the fair, to my shock, and maybe horror, we found Lil man likes the rides that go up high. hmmmm. Looks like on the trips to any amusement parks in the future I will have to pack some AAdvil. We had a great time and was really excited the Lil man got to go this year to the Fair.
Next up this weekend is Halloween and we are all dressing up per the Lil man's choice as Farmers. Lil Man and Momma have bib overalls and Daddy is wearing his John Deer Hat. I will try to post a picture. That's all for now have a Happy and safe Halloween.

Becoming a student!!
Turned in my Keys, Laptop, AV equipment, Blackberry and signed the papers. It is official I am now a student. Whoo hooo excited about the opportunity to learn and achieve a life objective. I really appreciate the support from my friends and family in this decision. Since the budget is gonna get a little tight Captain J and I are already playing a game with the groceries and expenses to see who can have the best savings or get the best deal. It is kinda fun really. We found a great deal at food lion where we got 4 chicken quarters for 4.00 and I picked up a book bag, and some clothes for the lil man at Kohl's using my gift card and some Kohl's cash for free.
Game on!!
